Adopt a Family This Christmas

My parish, Mary Our Queen Catholic Church, for our Angel Giving Tree has 87 family groups in need of adopting. These are families who come to us from our St. Vincent DePaul case managers, from people who call asking for help and from Catholic Charities --- all of which help people of all or no faith.

We also help Good Shepherd Services with sweaters, shoes, dove soap, etc.

Forego gifts for each other this year and adopt one of these families. They are all sizes - 2 children, 3, 4, and a few with 5. Or make a small contribution to Good Shepherd Services.

If you can help, contact me at 770-446-7940 or elaine262@gmail.com.

I can answer your questions.
If you cannot help financially, please consider praying that no child goes without some kind of love this Christmas.
Merry Christmas to you.

Please see my post i am attaching here, and let me know of any help you know of. hi not sure if you saw or not but I did make a post looking for a Christmas tree for my children. we did receive a tree we actually received 3and have 2 to give away um I am still looking for Christmas assistance for my children it's late in the year and I know that I'm cutting it close but I did not know that I was going to need help until last week. you think I have been on with me on facebook when I got hurt at work I have not received a single check and I have a settlement that supposed to be coming we were told it would be here by last week but when I went to meet with the attorney they said that it will be at least 8 to 10 more weeks. which means no Christmas for my children, I have tried to apply at churches and many other avenues about they tell me its too late i should have applied earlier. So I'm pleading with anyone out there if you know of a way to get Christmas help this late in the season or if you may be able to help yourself if you feel a pull on your heart and want to help it is greatly appreciated. Thank you & Merry Christmas

Hi, Jeri-Lynn: I'm sorry for your situation, especially at Christmas. Please call 211. That's the United Way crisis line that coordinates help for agencies in metro Atlanta. They should be able to get you to a group in your zip code and help you. As you saw by my posting, we're more than maxed out and may have to return some of the families we have been given back to Catholic Charities. That's why I made a public appeal. So, please call 211. You will be contacted after you check in with that service.
