The focus of Greater Gwinnett Rose Society's November meeting will be "Gardening to Attract Hummingbirds” with Professor Paul Thomas, PhD, University of Georgia College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences.
Dr. Thomas’ research at UGA is focused on commercial bedding plant and perennial production. He plans and implements regional and state programs involving the greenhouse industry, serves as State Extension Specialist in Floriculture, and has been an educational advisor to the Georgia Flower Growers Association.
The GGRS is open to anyone who enjoys roses and wants to learn more about them. Meetings are open to everyone at no cost. GGRS has Master and Consulting Rosarians who are available to consult about your roses. We meet at 7 pm on the first Tuesday of most months. The Gwinnett Justice and Administration Building houses many of the departments for Gwinnett County. The Administrative Office of the Courts handles all administrative issues related to the courts in the county.
The Office of the District Attorney provides prosecution services for the citizens of the county. It is divided into three divisions: The Trial Division, The Criminal Investigation Division and The Victim-Witness Unit.
The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners formulates policy, sets the government's budget and votes to approve certain actions. Voters in the county elect a full-time chairman and part-time district commissioners from each of the four voting districts. Board meetings are held the first and third Tuesday of every month at 2pm.
Gwinnett County Information Technology maintains and protects the county's IT assets from cyber threats and explores ways to build the infrastructure to prepare Gwinnett County for the future.
