My dear husband sent me an e-mail saying that the Lawrenceville Patch was looking for bloggers. As luck would have it, I have been a blogger since 2002, in one form or another. So I thought I'd start submitting posts for the Patch!
My blogging life has taken on many different turns. Most recently, I have found myself blogging on parenting, pregnancy, toddlerhood, being a boy mom, and home improvement and DIY. I guess I consider myself a "mommy blogger", but sometimes I'll blog about whatever is on my mind, be it politics or social issues or just silly stuff I find online.
I spend most of my time blogging at The House of Burks. I have been known to do a guest post every now and then, though, so you might find me in different places on this giant thing we call the internet. I love social media and am active on Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest. We are a sports-loving family, and root for the Braves, Falcons, and the Auburn Tigers (War Eagle!). That last one doesn't make us very popular during the fall, but we still proudly wear the orange and navy.
We have lived in Lawrenceville for six years, and are very much looking forward to the upcoming years of peewee football, tee-ball, and getting more involved in the community as parents of school-aged children. With both of us working full time (me in Midtown Atlanta), it's been hard to really get acquainted with Lawrenceville and spend some time learning about our city, but we are making it a point to explore and enjoy what the area has to offer.
Thanks for spending some time getting to know me and my little family. I hope to become a regular contributor to the Lawrenceville Patch's Local Voices!
