Lawrenceville Woman Arrested for "Fighting Words"
The woman fell asleep on a back deck of a Sugar Hill home and claimed she lived there.
A Lawrenceville woman who was taking a nap on what she claimed was her back porch, ended up in jail.
On Wednesday, July 25th, a Sugar Hill woman came home from work to find a strange woman asleep on her back deck. So she called the police.
According to the police report, 48 year old Daphne Binion McDowell of Lawrenceville, had pulled two lawn chairs together to form a makeshift bed. When McDowell woke up, she reportedly began yelling and cursing at the Gwinnett County police officers. McDowell claimed to live at the house.
"What the [expletive] are you doing in my house!" yelled McDowell at the officers. The GCPD officers then asked the woman what the address to her house was. "254. This is my house!" continued McDowell. She even threatened to sue the police officers and the GCPD.
Officers informed her the address of the house she was napping at was actually 452. McDowell kept yelling and cursing and insisting it was her house.
McDowell, who's address on the police report is listed as 1871 Stoney Chase Dr. in Lawrenceville and not in Sugar Hill, was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct-Fighting Words.

I currently live at 1871 Stoney chase dr. My husband and I just purchased this house in January and daphne shows up saying she lives at our house to, but she does not! We have called the police 2 times and they said they could not do anything. She seems like she is not in the right state of mind and needs to be committed. How can nothing be done?
