Lawrenceville McDonald's Nose Ring Story Mocked on SNL
The bit appeared during Saturday Night Live's "Weekend Update." What do you think of the joke?
This past Saturday, Lawrenceville was referenced on NBC's Saturday Night Live.
In the last story "Weekend Update--" the show's fake newscast featuring funny spins on the latest headlines-- cast member Seth Meyers read a story about the mother who found a nose ring in food she bought at the Clayton Street McDonald's last month.
"A woman in Georgia is claiming that she found a nose ring in her four-year-old daughter’s breakfast burrito," read Meyers before delivering the punchline. "Which I believe means she won a visit with white trash Willy Wonka."
Next to Meyers the graphic changed from the McDonald's logo, a nose ring and a map of the state of Georgia to one of Willy Wonka with a protruding belly with a white tank top and a confederate flag on it, holding a beer.

It's funny-ish AND in bad taste; it's SNL after all. I think someone losing their nose ring during commercial food preparation is pretty disgusting in ANY part of the country and deserves to be called out. The restaurant needs a good McRibbing! We need to be able to laugh at ourselves, collectively...the Good, the Bad and the Ugly!
