Escape to a Cheap Place

Escaping to a cheap place may not sound so good at first, but after you’ve been to Cheapos in Lawrenceville, the jaw-dropping experience will put the “E” in escape for you.

Ladies, a visit to this little nook of heaven will lift your spirits and get your mind off the “needy-greedy” of everyday. And the owner, Maria Goodman, adds to the occasion by making you feel like family. As soon as you step foot in the door, she greets you with a “Hey girl!” and when you leave, she bids you farewell with her infamous “Rock-On!”

Natacha Constant, who calls herself a “regular” at Cheapos says, “a trip to Cheapos never disappoints. I always find something cheaper than dirt (she laughs) for everything in my family, and the plus is I can treat myself without burning a hole in my pocket”. 

“The prices at Cheapos compared to other thrift stores are much lower. The store really lives up to its name.”

Cheapos will be celebrating its two-year anniversary Wednesday, March 9th  and invites everyone out to join the party. Clothes will be reduced to 25 cents for the whole day. Women’s, girl’s and junior’s winter tops will be 10 cents. All costume jewelry will be $1. Plus the entire store will be 50% off the regular price, which is always a dollar or less. Imagine that. I have yet to find a thrift store that even comes close to beating these prices.

“Keep in mind that we have furniture here, too. I also have a 3 carat tennis bracelet that retails for over 4 grand, and I’m selling it for $1200,” says Goodman.
