Are There Sex Offenders On Your Trick or Treat Route?

We checked and found more than 200 registered sex offenders in Lawrenceville, Ga. Is there one in your neighborhood?

Halloween is next week and kids will be ringing bells throughout the neighborhood asking for candy. But could one of those bells be to the home of a sex offender?

Lawrenceville Patch checked with the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office's website and we found 201 registered sex offenders with a Lawrenceville address.

While a number of them are listed as living at the Gwinnett County Detention Center at 2900 University Parkway, still many live in neighborhoods through out the city and unincorporated Lawrenceville.

Click here to see the GCSO's list of sex offenders and find out if there's one living on your block.

Halloween just needs a bogeyman. There are hundreds of such articles published every Haloween. The only thing missing is someone actually pointing out a single incident anywhere in the country of a registered sex offender attacking a trick or treater. I dare anyone to find a reported incident.

Perhaps consider laws that criminally charge parents for lack of vigilance in being sure their children are safe. It might be a good idea to put the parents on a registry so people know not to associate with these irresponsible people. Ohhhh Yeeeaaahhhh!
