Zehngraff Named Traffic Engineer for Northeast Georgia

Scott Zehngraff was recently named the DOT's District Traffic Engineer for 21 counties in Northeast Georgia that comprise District One, according to a press release from the GA DOT.

Previous to this appointment Zehngraff worked with the Georgia DOT in 1995 as a Civil Engineer Technologist in the Construction Division in Metro Atlanta. Zehngraff then moved into the Traffic Operations Office and most recently served as the General Operations Manager of the State Traffic Operations Office. In 2011 Zehngraff was honored with the "Wayne Shackelford Leadership Award."

"Scott will do an excellent job as our Traffic Engineer. His focus is on safety and he will incorporate safety improvements into every facet of his work ensuring it is utilized throughout the entire traffic operations office,” stated Bayne Smith, Department of Transportation District Engineer, in a press release.

Zehngraff's new position will become effective on August 16 and he will be responsible for District wide traffic engineering studies, signal timing studies, safety enhancement reviews, citizen complaint investigations, commercial driveway permits, speed zone/radar ordinance coordination and the placement, installation and maintenance on all traffic signals and other traffic devices.
