Delta Community Credit Union Supports Team’s Good Deed with Contribution to Athletic Program

ATLANTA – (Nov. 1, 2012) – The Collins Hill High School football program recently donated $40,000 – the money raised from their annual fall fundraiser – to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, a not-for-profit provider of pediatric care for children facing serious illnesses and medical conditions.

“I am proud and impressed by the teamwork and commitment the football team put in to make this year’s fundraiser an even bigger success than last year and the largest to date. Much more than a great exercise in community service, this really shows what can be accomplished by focusing on a cause beyond one’s own interests,” said Kevin Reach, head football coach of the Collins Hill Eagles. “Delta Community Credit Union’s pledge to match every dollar we raised served as added inspiration and led us to exceed our fundraising goal.”

The contribution from the Collins Hill Eagles was presented to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta through Children’s Miracle Network at the Collins Hill home football game on Oct. 26, 2012.

Delta Community’s matching gifts program was created to remind students of the broader community beyond their high school environment. The program offers the added benefit of providing schools with a fundraising cause that is more likely to have a wider appeal for general audiences.
